Virtual life

You create an avatar and live through it in an online virtual world shared with other people: socialising, working, shopping or building. There is no main quest; the experience is life in that community.

    Origin

    Lucasfilm Games' Habitat opened its beta in 1986 on Quantum Link for the Commodore 64: it was the first attempt at a large-scale commercial graphical virtual community.
